The Range of Accounting Services
The interviews were conducted at https://www.flinderspartners.com.au by the researchers. The participants included clients of business tax accountants, providers of accounting services, and accounting professors.
Accounting service providers and their clients have been identified as key actors in the study of service quality, given that they are characterized by knowledge-intensive services (KIBS) and a complex relationship of co-production with customers (Doloreux and Laperriere 2014; Santos-Vijande et al. 2013).
The interview analysis revealed that there are six dimensions that can be used to assess the quality of business tax accountant. These are advisory view, capability, efficiency, communication, trustiness, and technological innovation. These dimensions are different from those that have been used in previous studies, as they are more specific to the accounting context.
Moreover, they show that the KIBS concept identifies aspects of service quality that are not reflected in traditional models of service quality assessment, such as SERVQUAL or SERVPERF (Parasuraman et al. 1988). This highlights the importance of using a model designed specifically for the accounting context.
